IR Scheduling for Dr. Thomas; STRG

This page is intended to help the person(s) tasked with scheduling my patient's procedures at the hospital. 

in 2023 that is usually Regina at Methodist, not STRG or STRIC, but if she is not available, please follow these steps.

Here is a suggested protocol for you to follow when you are notified that a patient is ready to schedule
  1. Keep a calendar that shows my Vacation days, my Post-Call days, and previously scheduled procedures
  2. Contact patient to find out what day they want their procedure and get some alternative days (if they ask for a day that I am not available ask them for other choices)
  3. Verify with Dr. Thomas that the time and date are OK.  As long as you have checked that I am not on vacation, not post-call, and there are no previously scheduled procedure conflicts with that time it will likely be fine. If you text me, I will answer faster than email.
  4. Contact scheduling at Methodist Radiology (Regina or one of her scheduling folk) and book the procedure.
  5. Email me, Kendra, and Dr. Khandheria to notify all of the procedure date and time.
  6. Tell the patient they are set.  
Exceptions:
1) Do not schedule PAEs or Endoleak repairs or CT Guided Tumor Ablations on Thursday mornings. Those often go late and I am in clinic on Thursday afternoons. 
2) Until I tell you otherwise, all Endoleak repairs need to be done with both Dr Thomas and Dr Zink

​Please keep in mind that the patients expect to be able to find out from STRG how much they can expect to pay for their procedure. 

Please be courteous; you represent me when talking to my patients. I have put in a lot of effort to get them to the point they are speaking to you. If your treat them with disrespect, they will likely seek care elsewhere.
